If you wish to write in support of the planning application for the community wind turbine please please do so shortly as the deadline for written submissions is drawing close.

A copy of the application shall be made available in the local Tiree Council Office, however and any formal letters of objection or support should be directed to the Argyll And Bute Planning Office, Lorn House, Albany Street, Oban PA34 4AR
 
Planning Timetable for the Tiree Community Wind Turbine Print E-mail

  • 2nd November 2006 – Public Meeting, An Talla to consider all the information and studies regarding the turbine.
  • 2nd – 30th November 2006 – Public Exhibition, Tiree Rural Centre. Displays of the turbine within Tiree’s landscape.
  • 7th November 2006 – Decision by the Board of Directors of the Tiree Community Development Trust and Tiree Renewable Energy Ltd. as to whether a planning application will be submitted.
  • End November 2006 – Submission of planning application to Argyll and Bute Council. (If decided).
  • December 2006 – Opportunity for formal letters of support or objection in response to statutory advert in the Oban Times.
  • Spring – Summer 2007 – Planning Decision Outcome by Argyll and Bute Council.

Tiree Renewable Energy Ltd. (TREL) has received planning permission to erect a 50 metre meteorological mast to record wind speed and direction at the turbine site.
